687. olympics medal

Rant of the day: Deric don't like bathing.

Yes, let's all roar for Team Singapore in Beijing Olympics 2008! After 48 years, we finally secured at least a silver medal. Sweet revenge for the table tennis female team when they sent the Koreans off after a long and tedious close 4 hours match. Singapore beat Korea 3-2.

The Koreans had been a long nemesis to our team. We had lost many games to them and this victory finally came to soothe the previous pain. Nice!

The finals will be today against China, contending for the gold. Right... Go go go!

686. all her gibberish

Rant of the day:

Meeting yesterday evening dragged so badly till I'm really so late for school. But due to the course feedback and evaluation, the lesson started just the moment I reached the hall. And of course, I'm quite contented that I skipped the evaluation thingy.

最佳乱乱“奖”did it again! Totally made a fool of herself at the meeting. If you have to produce statistics, do it with caution. This organisation loves to see numbers and to them, statistics are so important to their daily routine. She is only suppose to compile the feedback forms from the seminars and tabulate accordingly, to find on any room for improvements and of course, any feasible feedbacks.

The thing about that stats she produced, it is FULL of ERRORS! Not small and unimportant errors but totally of NO SENSE and LOGIC! She can copy and paste last years stats and put it in. When questioned on the particular error, here's what she said, "Erm... I'm not sure why got this table. I think I need to go and check. I think maybe something wrong with my spreadsheet."

Seriously, there is NOTHING wrong with the spreadsheet. Because the table she copied in was from last year's stats! I had been there last year so I know! This year collected 341 feedback forms. So how can there be 629 replies? The rest of the comments given were actually LAST YEAR'S too! And she still have the cheek to say, "I think this comment will be mentioned by other participants in coming seminars."

Right... Then perhaps this job don't really suit her. She should be a gypsy instead...

Can she just STOP putting the blames on other things like colleagues or the technology? Because she is the PROBLEM! Just on the stats she gave dragged the meeting by another ridiculous 20min. All her gibberish...

On a lighter note, Deric's cough is getting alot better. And yes, he is a super active guy. But the good thing is, he don't bark often and only when he is about to wee wee or poop poop. His appetite is really good and loves all kinds of fruits!

And guess what, he already knows how to listen to 2 basic commands -- sit and hand/paw. So smart right? Clever boy. Next thing to teach is "down" I guess.

Rant of the day:

这理论apply to both male and female。

Quote of the day: 我和超人的唯一分别是,我把内裤穿在里面。

不是一首新歌,但总是很顺耳耐听。Evonne许慧欣和Alicia潘玮仪的《陪你等天亮》。

《陪你等天亮》
歌手:许慧欣&潘玮仪
作词:徐世珍
作曲:陈界维
编曲:Mac Chew

683. new member at home

Quote of the day: 钱不是问题。

I'd finally collected the Saucony shoes. Ok la. Not exactly like that design but there wasn't much choice for me to choose from.

It's a pair of Saucony Orignals, cost around $70 plus. The plus point of their shoes is they are extremely light.

I have to officially annouce that we have a new member at home now. Let's all welcome Deric!

It's a puppy actually -- Japanese Spitz. Don't ask me why a human name for a puppy. It's not my "bright" idea. It's only 2 and a half months old, so have to cage it up to learn where to poop and pee. It's NOT cheap lor but fully paid by mum! It is quite cute really... Have yet to bark but I realised it does have slight cough. Not sure if it's really sick or just too uncomfortable with the new environment. I'll keep check on that. Hopefully nothing serious...

It's sleeping now. Shhhhhhh...

Well, Natsu Matsuri is just around the corner and dear is all hyped up about the event. For those who have no idea what the heck is it, it's actually the Japanese Summer Festival. Dear has always been an ardent fan of the Japanese culture. So, I'm just enjoying what she's enjoying now.

She bought a new set of Yukata, female Japanese traditional clothings for summer. This set cost more than $300! It's NOT a Kimono just for your info. Kimono is meant for winter.

I got my first Junpei, male version of the traditional clothings for summer. It's not cheap. Considering $70 for a set of light and airy cloth...

Oh well, a splurging day I suppose...

682. screwing it up

Rant of the day: I'm so busy at work...

Ok. My media pitch is done and approved. Just need to clean up the pitch here and there a lil. At least I can get a breather for a while. Concentrate on work first.

Have to take a half day off this Friday, all thanks to Dell. After replacing the motherboard, many of my applications can't run. And not only that, the wireless card tray is loose! Plus, the dummy SD card (that prevents dust collection) is lost!

Right...

So, I called up their helpline again. Done some remote testing online and confirmed by their staff that my laptop is lagging quite badly. No choice but have to guide me to do a factory reset, back to the original state when I just bought the laptop. Great... this means i have to re-install all my applications.

Nevermind that. At least that helpline staff was helpful. Think his name is Brendon or something like that. But the entire experience is not a happy one. He have to re-arrange the technical staff to liaise with me again for a second appointment to screw that loose tray up and also to check if anything wrong with my new motherboard.

Next working day, received a call from the technical department on the request. Didn't make any prior arrangement and all I know was they will check my motherboard before making further arrangement. Ok. Fine. I thought they will call me up shortly to collect my laptop for analysis but the next moment, my mum called and told me the technical staff was at our house!

Guess what? He was looking for the OLD motherboard that he had already took away after the first servicing! Right... Then they called again to clarify and realised was some internal mis-communication and decided to go back office to analysis the old motherboard.

Time wasters...

Despite not screwing up properly the tray on my laptop, they totally screwed up the entire arrangement! And it doesn't help when my laptop wasn't even more than 9 months old...

On a lighter note, since I'm taking half day off this Friday, might as well quickly collect that Saucony shoes that I'd won earlier during the CSC River Run. Get it over and done with before that voucher expires.

Was discussing with Ben just now while we were on our way home, the current bloggers cat fight totally ridicule and disgrace the other proper bloggers. While 2 women fight it out on court on who defamed who and who refuse to apologise to who, it should set all of us thinking if the citizen journalism is ethical after all.

Many known blogging as a form of citizen journalism and some may even argue that it's a personal diary. But seriously, if it's personal it can't be read by every Tom, Dick and Harry. And when it's citizen journalism, how much content are accurate? How much are malicious? How much are pure bullshit?

To me, blogging now means sharing what I experience to others who might fine it interesting and perhaps also for me to reflect back when I'm old. It's not a place to purposely make yourself famous. It's not a place to purposely create libel on others you hate, whether direct or by innuendo.

Whatever it is, the 2 famous local bloggers court case is just another over-rated cat fight.

681. repaired

Rant of the day: MORE work!

Yes! My laptop is repaired. Everything seems fine... for now. Think the entire motherboard was replaced. It's fused. Maybe it's time for me to buy a laptop cooler for home usage. Else, I'm not sure what will burn out next.

Since Comex is coming in August, need to get ready the following to buy:

1) Laptop cooler
2) Thumb drive
3) Laptop keyboard protector?
4) Laptop screen protector?

Not sure if I should get the last two since they are not necessity... yet... Perhaps just to check out the prices and KIV the items. Get it if they are cheap.

Anyway, next Tuesday will be the deadline for my media pitch. Shit. It's not ready. Must work on it asap.

680. first hd

Rant of the day: Think I'm getting heaty again... Shit!

Happy... Happy... Happy... I'd finally got my first HD!!! But it was a marginal score. Got prolly dragged down by the paper. Couldn't remember the last chapter and that had a super high mark allocation.

Whatever the case, congrats to the whole team as this means ALL the member got HD! Nice...

679. saved

Rant of the day: My eyes are tired and itchy...

Thanks to Weiming, my personal stuff inside my laptop is saved! Phew~~ Thanks to those who tried to help me too.

Apparently, it's due to a fault in my graphics card. Advise from Weiming was to connect my office LCD to my laptop and view the stuff from there temporarily while I do my backing up. This is necessary just in case Dell support staff decided to re-format my laptop.

Their experts are coming to my place tomorrow to replace the damaged part.

Hopefully no re-formatting required.

The laptop must be up and ready asap, else, I'll be really screwed for my assignments. Not forgetting losing all my previous assignments...

678. foul mood

Rant of the day: Stupid web help that doesn't help...

I'm in foul mood now. All the electronics seem to have something against me.

After the issues with my mobile, I'd lost my thumbdrive last week. To add on with the headache, my office mouse gave me a whole lot of problem where it start moving by itself and NOT moving when I wanted it to.

Guess what, my laptop failed on me last night... It REFUSE TO BOOT UP! Worse thing is, I had yet to backup my stuff into my portable harddisk! What the fuck!

Started last night when I switched on my laptop. Barely less than 10min during my chat with dear online, the screen flicked. Then it turned green. Then it hanged. Then it auto-restarted. Some sort of auto recovery system ran with "successful" message but apparently, nothing good came out of it. It simply refuse to even boot up after that. Not even when I wanted to go to safe mode!

FUCK!

And seriously, it doesn't help to think this laptop had only been with me for less than a year! This model is not exactly the cheap cheap kinda of series! Ladies and gentlemen, guess the brand of the laptop... DELL...

I'm screwed...

Foul mood. Don't piss me!

677. the restricted artistic branch

Name of the day: Seriously Interested in Money...

The funny thing about working in a large organisation is that peeps will put the fault on you even if you don't know them and the problem lies in themselves.

Someone from Restricted Artistic Branch actually feedback to 最紧“江”奖 that 最多话要“奖”and I were sometimes quite noisy. Right... This is what we call -- 贼喊抓贼 (robber screams to catch robber)!!!

Seriously, they are NOT in the right position to pass such comments. In fact, they are the NOSIEST bunch of peeps in the level. From which branch did the mobile NOT set silent and let it ring endlessly like a fire alarm? From which branch did their staff talks over the phone like screaming for a discount? From which branch did their staff group frequently together just to gossip loudly?

Ridiculous!

All they know is their yada yada... and talk without "cents". And by nature they are noisy, they will try to also find fault with other branches.

Whatever the case is, I assume that those who "feedback" are a bunch of nutcase.

So now, I have to "whisper" in office liao. What about the helpline? Maybe I need to work in pantry insteaad.

676. you've been warned

Rant of the day: I'm so sleepy...

Don't click on the button at the bottom left hand bar that says "Don't click here".

You've been warned!!!

Muahahahahaha.................................

*evil laughter*

Anyway, office is exceptionally peaceful today because 最佳乱乱“奖” is not in office! So happy. No one to piss me off.

Can't wait for my Movenpick ice-cream that I'd purchased through dear. It's cheap but now, have to start finding space in the fridge. Shit... No space...

675. i'm blessed too

Rant of the day: I need a miracle...

It's good to be rich. A lil housewarming gathering at Hans' place left my jaws dropped. His new place is HUGE! When will I ever have such a place for my own? Think not in this lifetime I guess. No matter how hard I work, it will still never happen.

But I am happy with what I have now. Prolly the simplest thing in life but it's good enough. A loving mum who will cook dinner everytime I have lessons till late. A loving girl whom I love alot too. A gigantic younger brother that I can shaft those heavy sacks of rice to if he's around. A stable job that can still sustain my daily needs. An on-going education that prolly can get me else where after I graduate.

And of course, a healthy body that still functions daily (but it does malfunction once a while during flu season). A healthy diet that can still enjoy wonders of sour, sweet, bitter and spice. A functional arse hole that can still FART loudly (I just did!).

I should also say what Hans' mum said -- I'm blessed with all these.

It's great to see my best pals back in Singapore. We are all so busy and haven't got the time to really meet up until today. Three people from totally different background, coming together as friends. Hans with the totally ang moh pai accent and the extremely cheem English. Xuan with the full mixture of strong English and Chinese and is of course, definitely smart. And me, totally opposite of Hans but I'm more rojak.

Different life. Different practise. But one common thing -- friendship. Oh well... Am sure we'll find time to meet again.

And even though I'm blessed too, I don't mind that spacious bedroom. And lotsa mirrors in my bedroom. And a personal toilet. And a potential dance studio. And beautiful kitchen. And a soundproof cinema-like entertainment room. And a huge balcony.

Haha...

Rant of the day: I'm so sleepy...

Kelly
Kelvin
Sing

673. i wish...

Today's headline: 最佳乱乱“奖”don't know how to use powerpoint.

Seminar today was a lil haywire but still manageable. Just a couple of questions I can't answer but luckily TY was around to save the day. Phew! It's good to have backend peeps during the seminars.

Crossing my fingers for the 500-600 participants seminar. Think that might really freak me out. Haha...

I miss my dear so much. Haven't seen her only for a couple of days but it felt like forever.

I know dear is under alot of stress as she has yet to get accustom to the full time worker and part time student sort of life. Tired. Stress. Lost. I had been there... Though I can't help much except listening to her frustration, I wish I could be there for her 24hrs. I wish I can hug her tight when she needed some comfort. I wish I can massage her shoulder when she's feeling tired.

I hope this can make my dear smile and just forget about her stress for just a single second.
