1133. stuff from USA

Rant of the day: The weather is hot hot hot...
It's been 5 days since dear came back from USA and I'm finally not feeling the extreme boredom. Just look at the stuff she bought for us!

Disney lanyard for my brother and I. These are seriously expensive stuff. No cheaper than Coach there! My gawd... I got the black and my brother, the colourful design. Very long and require some time to loop the lanyard to make it shorter.

A C.O. Bigelow hair and body wash. Smell insanely good! Perfect for me as my current Arber hair and body wash is finishing soon.

Another Calvin Klein belt but this time, a leather belt for work. I am simply in love with this. Yes, I'm very much a CK fan! My briefcase. My belts. My underwear!

Dried assorted fruits. Very very delicious! It's seriously a non-stop snack. You will just keep on taking the next one.

Mochaccino mints. Cute stuff and waiting for the right chance to open it up. Prolly the perfect mints on long car rides. KL roadtrip again? Hahaha...

Tommy Hilfiger polo tees! Not 1 but 2 polos! Unfortunately, ang mohs are really huge size people. Even the S size is huge for me. So, mum will be trying to alter these 2 pieces for me! Yeah! Thanks mum!

Not forgetting my mother, dear also got her something. Coach pass holder and lanyard! Very nice!

And the pink version for brother's girlfriend. The colour is so girly!

And yes, the Coach there are seriously cheap in comparison to those we see here in Singapore. Not only this, Aldo there are also cheap like crap but as dear did not have enough time, we had nothing from there. Perhaps we should all go Las Vegas!

Oh dear. Now where should we head to for honeymoon? USA or Europe or Australia? Hmmmmmm...

1132. 有口难开

Rant of the day: 年十一。

1131. truncated message

Rant of the day: 2 more days...
Viber rang yesterday.

Dear was on the line.

Connection was bad.

I could barely hear her talking.

Sentences were truncated.

"Dear, I'm... Fres... Going... Eat... I.... Not safe... Lock seems..."

My heart sank.

Felt like crying.

Tears dwelling.

I can't heard her and I doubt she can hear me clearly too.

From the truncated words, I felt extremely worried.

Finally hear her voice after 3 days and yet the connectivity sucks big time.

But still, I managed to hear her voice...

*sigh*

1130. family dinner

Rant of the day: I need more dancefloor!
Family dinner last night was enjoyable. At least we were having it at an extremely atast restaurant in Vivocity, Tong Lok Signatures! And I believe the dinner cost a bomb! Imagine for yu-sheng, they served with Alaskan Crab! And for sharkfin soup, it's 1 whole sharkfin per pax with a piece of black truffle on it!

Anyway, a photo for the elders.

And all the cousins! Jeffrey missing in action. Think he went to the toilet or something...

After dinner was clubbing with Thomas, his girlfriend and Kelvin. Went Shanghai Dolly and seriously, I'm so not going back for the second time. For the first time, the DJ talks in Chinese! Many times we heard “把你的双手举起来!”, meaning raised up your hands... -_-"

Totally anti-climax! Live band performances singing songs in my mum's era and I totally don't get the feel. Just barely 30min, we were feeling bored already. The only thing we like (in comparison) was the intermission period where the DJ plays and spin. Still, see above para... Anti-climax! If you are of certain age or like oldies and like Dragonfly, you prolly will love this place. For me, not really...

We should had went Arena instead. I'm more a hip hop RnB person... Haha...

But even though the night was spoilt by lousy club, we still had some fun. It's been a while since the cousins get together. It's like once a year thing. Haha...

1129. most boring cny ever

Rant of the day: Downing Hoegarden alone at home. What a CNY...
This is probably my MOST BORING CHINESE NEW YEAR EVER!!!

Dear is in USA now and at this moment, probably in Las Vegas. So I'm literally spending this CNY without her till next Wednesday. Missing her alot... Really ALOT... And because roaming calls are expensive, we are relying on Viber when dear got WiFi. But WiFi is a luxury for her. She don't get WiFi everytime. Only in certain hotels.

In case you are wondering what is Viber, it's an iPhone app for making free calls via WiFi or 3G network. And this app is FREE!!! Woohoo~~~

*sigh*

And during her absence, was planning on clubbing and ktv-ing with Kevin and his friends but I guessed things just crops up and don't work the way it should. Kevin... Where is my Shanghai Dolly?

*sigh*

Seriously, this year's CNY is a love and hate affair. I love the long weekend. I love the weather. I love the food. But I hate the loneliness. I hate going to house visits and hearing relatives asking where's my gf. I hate trying to find things to do after all the visits and house chores!

I jogged to Bishan and jogged back.

I swam 1km.

I slept ALOT.

I played Facebook games over and over.

I tweet and tweet and trying to refresh the screen for more tweets.

I watched shows in TV and on laptop.

I let my iTunes goes on and on and on.

Everything I can do, I did!!! But still, the loneliness wouldn't go away. Boring~~~~~ What a way to kick off the Year of the Rabbit...

Still, I have to say that I'd really enjoying the dinner on eve with mum and brother. The 盆菜 is just way too good to resist!

Lovin' the chicken too. Damn delicious. And the proper way to eat this dish is to wrap a piece of chicken in the lettuce and smear the meat with the garlic paste. Mmmmmm...

The fish is good. Soft and tender. Melts in your mouth.

And this fried rice with crabs and prawns... It's absolutely mouth-watering! I had like 2 servings of this!

And how can we forget about yu-sheng on CNY? It's inclusive!

All these take-away reunion dinner package from Soup Restaurant at only $188 (exclusive of GST).

And on the first day of CNY, how can I not wear red? Haha.

Very red right? It was hurting my eyes when I'm in front of a mirror. From Topman. And mum's hair straightener works! My hair so straight! Nice...

Anyway, this CNY will be long and torturing for me at least. Till dear is back on Wednesday. Gawd I miss her!!!

1128. demoralising

Rant of the day: Bak gua time!!!
It's a lil demoralising when I'd sent out numerous job applications since last year and only went for 1 interview. Sometimes I do think if my education and capability is so unwanted. I'm not that bad ya know and I'm pretty sure I am a capable guy with limitless capabilities. Perhaps I'm just having bad luck on these.

Stressing out when I start to think about my future, especially when I need to plan my wedding banquet and the upcoming 5-room flat. Will I be able to finance the family when I barely bring home $2000 cash every month? What if the baby comes along too after wedding? Do I need a car by than to ferry wife and child? Education? Food? Bills? Fees?

Seriously... oh my gawd.............

I need a better salary job... FAST!!!

Anyway, Dinner & Dance is this coming Saturday. I'm so looking forward to this. But after that, I think I'm gonna be really sad and bored because my darling is going to USA for 2 weeks!!! Gonna miss her badly... Please don't buy me anything baby. All I want is you to come back safely by my side.

Chinese New Year is just a week away but weirdly, I've got no mood for the occasion. Is it because I'm too stress out by my future?

1127. resolutions

Rant of the day: I need to finish that song!!!
Was browsing through the photos in my iPhone earlier and I saw this!!!

I took a screenshot of my iPhone Twitter when I was pretty high that day!!! Someone actually tweeted and I'm so glad it really happened. To the tweeter yoyocheong, yes, I'm the sweet guy and I hope you have your sweet guy too. Cheers.

Anyway, I haven't made my 2011 new year resolution but I'm really not sure what to list. Prolly to make sure I exercise more and to complete a half marathon this year! Up next will be the Adidas Sundown 10km in May.

So a list I shall...

1) Complete a half marathon.
2) A new job/position perhaps.
3) Save more money and less spending, especially on my credit cards.
4) Confirm on the hotel for wedding banquet.
5) Loss weight and hopefully at least 5kg.
6) Do up a few short trips to perhaps KL, Genting or Bintan since long trips are not really possible this year.
7) Don't fall sick that often please. I hate flu!!!
8) Exercise more. No more excuses since I really need to do (1) and (5).
9) Eat less!! Everytime I look into the mirror, I think I look like a PIG!!! A fat one... I don't wanna look like... *ahem*

I really hope some of the above can be done. It's 2011 and time to chiong ah!!!

1126. the perfect start for 2011

Rant of the day: Rain rain rain...
I've got the perfect start for 2011 and this cannot be done without the help of sooooooooo many people. In case you are confused with what kinda "start" I had, I finally made my proposal to my dear after dating for close to 5 years. But actually on 31 December 2010, it's exact 5 years since we met!

Yes, I proposed on 31 December 2010 at Timbre Substation. And I think I spoilt the market for many guys out there. Oops but unapologetic. Haha... So what I did on that day prolly made me the most unpopular guy of the night. I got on stage. Sang a song. Had a large bouquet of red roses. Took out the proposal solitaire. Knelt to the ground (on stage actually). And popped the question.

On stage with Kevin, singing 《理想情人》by Rainie Yeung. Nervous like hell...

Matthew bringing up the roses after my song. 108 stalks actually. Getting ready to ask the most important question for the night...

Going on my knees, saying "will you marry me" and I'm finding it really cliche now. Hahaha... But what could be better than this?

My dear admiring the roses and wondering how to bring it back home. It's like super duper heavy!

Posing for the camera. Alas, it's done. Mission accomplished! ^^v

Partying through the night till 2011 with 53A. They are soooooo good!!! Love~~~

But of course, all these booze and fun came with a price. Hefty but for the first time in my life till now, I felt so good spending!!! It's almost my 1 month salary by the way. Ouch but happy. Hahaha... Good thing I'd saved enough for it else I'm prolly crying my heart (and wallet) out now. =P

So, to my dearest YaYa, I love you and we have 108 years to go as represented by the roses. 1 stalk for 1 year. Muacks!

1125. in the future

Rant of the day: Very full. I love homecook food.
Saw this while going through those funny emails...

Wife: Do you want dinner?
Husband: Sure! What are my choices?
Wife: Yes or no.

Hahaha... I hope my marriage life in the future ain't like this...

1124. nye

Rant of the day: Tired...
1 more day to the end of 2010!!! And I'm hoping 2011 will be alot better than 2010. In fact, 2010 wasn't exactly a good year. Lots of things happened like me fracturing my ankle, losing almost all chances to be a radio DJ and other office stuff with a particular co-worker.

Honestly, I'm tired but doesn't feel the same way? I always believe in "cry now and move on" in my life. Not because I take things lightly but rather, why cry over spilt milk? What's done cannot be undone. The pain is there but hey, we all gotta move on because time doesn't pause there for us to take a breather. Time doesn't turns back for us to choose another path. We can sulk and cry no doubt but not for a prolong period.

And yes, I believe in crying. Awwwwww... You will go "Eric is a cry baby" and I don't deny the fact that I cry but I seriously don't cry ALL the time. On the right occasion. On the right stuff. Crying really releases lots of stress... But don't over-do it.

Anyway, dear is having a tough fight for dignity and I'm support her all the way. I'm always there for you baby. You can do it. Even though you like peace but sometimes, we can't choose our battle. Since we can't choose it, we then have to face it bravely and we can do it together. Hugs.

On something lighter for this year end occasion, I'm going to spend my NYE at Timbre Substation! Woohoo~~~ And I so love this place. The ambient. The food. The people. Hate the queue though but luckily we managed to get reserve seats! Yeah!

Just sharing my favourite song for this month... 家後(Hokkien pronounce as geh au)by江蕙.

I rarely likes Hokkien song but this one really caught my ears. And it's super meaningful. Loves~~~

1123. gifts from europe

Joy of the day: Congrats Alan and Sin Yee! Cheers!!!
Mum is finally back from her Europe trip! Haven't gone through her photos yet but am totally swooning over the gifts she bought for me!

A MontBlanc full leather wallet. Singapore selling S$440. It's somewhat around the same price but after the tourist tax rebate there, it's slightly cheaper. So expensive that I really afraid of spoiling it...

A Calvin Klein reversible belt. I haven't find the same belt in Singapore yet but definitely cheaper there in Europe. I soooooooo like the monogram on both sides!

Too bad that mum can't get us stuff from Zara. She was saying it's almost everywhere but since we can't try our sizes, she rather not take the risk and buy stuff that we can't wear.

She got dear a Long Champ bag also. Same design not available in Singapore. Cool! Like the MontBlanc wallet, after conversation should be around the same price but minus off the rebate, it's cheaper there.

I wanna go Europe too! I want Zara (and I can literally hear dear screaming for Burberry when she sees this)!!!

1122. christmas this year

Rant of the day: Coughing ain't getting any better... =(
Christmas this year wasn't as homely as compared to last year. I was going through last year's Christmas Eve and Christmas Day photos and realised that on the eve, dear and I were having steamboat at Angela's place. Whereas for Christmas Day, it was dedicated purely for home. Ice cream at Andersons and dinner at home.

This year however, was somewhat different partly 'cause mother was in Europe, celebrating a real WHITE Christmas. And alot of gifts exchanges with friends and colleagues. Although I do admit that the feeling of giving was great (especially when everyone in my branch received the honey sticks and were so happy about it), but the process of getting the gifts were a f**king hell lotsa headache!!! That's the point I start to ponder "why the f**k people celebrate Christmas" and really felt so drained about the entire event.

Anyway, we still have the gift exchange as per usual in office but together with all the other food gifts received on the eve, my table was literally filled with all sorts of items:
  • Towel set from Kim Chin.
  • Namecard and matching keychain from Fang Ying.
  • Bull dog handphone holder from Jingyi (gift exchange)
  • Another keychain with letter "E" plus a box of chocolate from temp staff Ailing.
  • More chocolates from Egon and Tasniyah.
  • Hello Panda cracker from director.
The 2 boxes of preserved chayote (佛手果) from Ivan but wasn't meant Christmas. Was to aid in my voice recovery from all my coughing.

And after work, was lots of household chores before chilling out at Durty Nelly Irish Pub with dear, Arina and Liwei. Totally love the ambience but prolly not the hottest place for Christmas countdown. Still, we love it. Except that dear was running a fever and I was pretty worried.

Lovely presents from the Arina and Liwei too! The 2011 scheduler will be soooooo handy come next year. And I love the colour! PURPLE!!!

And Liwei gave me a pair of ear studs from Takashimaya. My gawd!!! It's so beautiful! Looks so much like diamonds! I am longing to own a new pair of blings to match my clothes! Wait... It's not real diamonds right? Else, it will be way too expensive to accept as a Christmas gift!!!

And my brother got me a gift too! It's a bag tag from Crocs! I guess he is expecting me to travel more in coming year. It's definitely gonna come in handy 'cause I always runs out of tags when I travel.

That's Christams for this year. A rather mild version of craziness in the same festive day I suppose.

1121. 冬至照过

Rant of the day: Falling sick...

Dear还弄了些汤圆!糖水超屌的!好喝!!!

羡慕吧?哈哈……Dear有贤妻的感觉了。哈哈……

1120. t'is the season

Rant of the day: X'mas present is not suppose to be stressful!!!
T'is the season to be spending.
花 (pronouce: hua) la la la la... la la la la...

T'is the season wallets burning.
花 la la la la... la la la la...

Don't complain now, take out Visa.
花 la la... 花 la la... la la la...

Don't forget buy that present.
花 la la la la... la la la la...

In case you are not to sure how to sing it, just go with the original melody of the X'mas carol "T'is the Season". And the "花" here refers to "spending" and not "flowers".

I like X'mas primarily because it's a public holiday and I get to rest at home with family or out chillaxing (chilling + relaxing) with my friends. But as we grow older, there seems to be a need to buy presents and exchange presents. And the search for the right present seriously sucks!!! It's doesn't help much when there is a designated person you are buying for and that person doesn't tells you what he/she wants!

Come on lah... You expect me to read your mind... I ain't no Professor X leh...

You might be thinking "it's the thoughts counts" but honestly, if you got something that you REALLY don't need and don't like, how would you feel and react? Put on a fake smile and says "oh it's soooooo nice!". And you know what, "nice" is not a nice word actually. To most extend, it's loosely used when we ran out of words to use.

So, don't use the word "nice" on me. I get pretty annoyed actually.

Anyway, this will be the first time I'm not spending X'mas with mum and she's far far away in Europe. Hope everything is fine. The weather report is not promising and I'm very worried that she cannot endure the cold.

*pray*

1119. wrong crowd

Rant of the day: Feeling bloated...
I'm not sure why I always attracts the wrong crowd.

Seriously, since secondary school days, I'm always the "babe" magnet but in my situation, the term "babe" is loosely used and is NOT the typical babe referred.

In secondary school, I'm the target for big boobs Malay ah lians. Remembered once before class starts in lower secondary, I was waiting for my classmates for a round of carrom or two (it was the most played game in my school back then). As I was going through my textbooks to see if I had missed out any assignments, a group of Malay girls surrounded me and brought me to a quiet alley. And they started caressing my thighs and butt. All I remembered was alot of yakking which I couldn't absorb. If you think I should be enjoying the process, I'm telling you this seriously scare the shit out of me back then!!! I'm only a secondary 2 student for goodness sake.

Then in the midst and after NS, not sure why girls (of not my type and in most cases, not the type guys look for) like me. When I say "not the type guys look for", you get what I mean. Out of nowhere, girls pass messages to their friends (also my friends in NS) that they like me. And out of nowhere, girls ask me to be their steady. Funny thing is pretty girls back then doesn't seems to fall for me except my dear. Ya, she's exceptionally attractive (to me at least).

And now, guys like me. Right... But I am really NOT into guys. I may not be the typical man kinda guy and I don't intend to purposely fake the "man-ness". I like to wear purple sometimes but only if it matches my clothes overall. I am who I am. I do admit that acting "gay" at times with my close friends are really just for fun. But that does not constitute me part of the pink society. So why am I getting weird looks from guys sometimes?

Alright. I shouldn't be complaining about me being "attractive" but to the wrong crowd. At least I am attractive in one way or another. Take it as a compliment...
