Rant of the day: The weather is so warm today.
A very early Saturday morning and while most are still practising their proning position on their bed, prolly playing mahjong in their lalaland, I'm at Bukit Batok for the Public Service Week MRT Treasure Trail Competition. It's an event for all public servants like me!
Was there relatively early, afraid of being late as usual. While the rest of my team members were still on their way, I decided to go ahead with my BIG business in toilet. Haha. Have to unload first before any running starts. =P
After registering, we have to make our way to the starting point. Yes, we are team number 13. Not exactly a favourable number but I'm not superstitious. Haha.
Before moving off. From left: Isaac, Jingyi and me. Jingyi wasn't feeling well actually but she made a point not to give up and decided to join us. She's quite pale right? There's one more lady, Judy, in the control station as the clue communicator. Her role is to sms us the clue to search for answer while we run around with only foot or train and snap pictures. Then mms back the answer for the next clue.
Halfway through the competition. All looked shagged. I'm already sweating like a running tap. Jingyi looked even more pale. Drink up drink up!
After the trail ended. A group photo for the team! From left: me, Judy, Jingyi and Isaac. We completed the search. Cheers!
Another team from my branch. From left: Weiming, TY, Yee Chaun and Kim Chin. They looked equally shagged. All sweating like crazy.
And the result. Yes, we came in at the 20th position out of 75 participating teams from islandwide public service organisation. Not too bad for a team with a not-so-fit man (that's me), a sick lady and we went to a wrong place. Proud of the team even though we didn't win anything. It's all for the fun anyway. The prizes were really nothing to be proud of. $500 for first position. You get the drift for the rest of the prizes from second to 10 consolation prizes.
Talking about just to have fun and get together for the competition, I was totally disgusted and ashamed when Judy told me she was "bullied" at the control station by other groups. Quoting her story, the organiser felt that it was too messy and decided to re-organise the seating arrangement. This in turn caused our team, one of the earliest, to sit all the way to the back of the room. Fine... so be it.
Then, while she was getting a seat, a guy from another team knocked into her and threw a newspaper on the chair that Judy was about to sit. This action caused her to drop her mobile and it auto shut down. Yes, the mobile was the crucial point of the game! Without a working phone, the game cannot continue. Nevermind, Judy decide to go to the next chair and when she was about to sit again, that guy threw another newspaper on the chair to "chop" for his friend! Fuck! So ungentleman!
Guess what, the guy was from the same organisation as us. Such a disgrace! *pui*
Nevermind, Judy then go onto the next chair then another lady from Al-tea-eh threw a diary to chop for the seat. Right... And she still to the cheek to mock Judy's phone that our team confirm lose because her phone cannot even start up. It's only a game leh... But heaven has eyes. Her laptop spoilt when she's to anxious to quickly look for help. Karma...
But luckily, Judy's phone managed to get recover on time but due to some phone problem, the battery life dropped drastically.
Yes, it's only natural to be competitive in a game but, please do it with manners and sportsmanship.
