587. fashion bar

Joke of the day: A group of sperms entered a woman one day. The first sperm asked the second sperm, "How far are we away from the fellopian tube?" The second sperm replied, "Geez... Long way dude. We just past the tonsils."

After long hours of packing, we finally say goodbye to our office. Monday, we will be saying "HELLO" to our temporary office at level 19, before shifting to our final location at level 16 in May 2008. Well, provided that I'm still with the branch of course. Haha.

Had occupied this cubicle for the past six months and finally, all packed into two boxes. Files, trays, stationary and whatever not. Because of the helpline operation, Isaac and I were the last to pack up, whereas most of them left office at 4.30pm. Whatever...

Have to recommend this Hainanese Chicken Rice stall at my area. Found in the wet market a few blocks away from my home, their customers just kept pouring in. Their tradition Hainanese Chicken is so smooth and succulent. And their rice, absolutely D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! A set for two like this cost a mere $7! Fantastic taste at affordable price. Yummy!

Met up with dear and my school gang at Clarke Quay for dinner at Fisherman Wharf. Strong recommendation by Valerie. Well, their Fish 'n' Chips taste good but find it damn hard to slice them up. The fish just kept flaking off and it's almost impossible to poke it up with your fork. But their serving is huge! If you are hungry like never before, then it's time to hit this place. A common dory fillet Fish 'n' Chips cost $6.50. You get to choose between chips or fries. Large portion at low price. Aircon not included.

Since it's still early and the evening is splendid, we decided to walk around Clarke Quay and at the sametime, show Ben and Royston to Hooters. Oh, those tight and short pants.

Went to Fashion Bar for the first time to just chill out. Happy hours and their Carlsberg going one for one. Nice. Playing of those brainless games is a must. Royston got quite tipsy after downing slightly more than 2 bottles of beer. Valerie was as red as a cooked crab after sipping her Lychee Martini. Haha...

And yes, thanks alot Matthew for helping me photocopying the notes for coming module!

We shall now prepare to embrace 2008. Had your new year resolutions yet?

Quote of the day: Watashi wa kakkoii desu! Haha...

585. mario?

Joke of the day: Statements from real lawyers...
ATTORNEY: Do you recall the time that you examined the body?
WITNESS: The autopsy started around 8:30 p.m.
ATTORNEY: And Mr. Denton was dead at the time?
WITNESS: No, he was sitting on the table wondering why I was doing an autopsy on him!

There's something wrong with my MSN Messenger Live. Can't login when start up. Have to restart the messenger in order to login. And after logging in, it kept logging out by itself! And when you use the troubleshoot thing, everything seems fine. Wassup man???

Bug? Virus? Hope not... Let's not talk about it and pray that things will be ok by itself! Hohoho...

Watch this.

If the Mario game is made this way, I'll prolly slam the joystick control or my keyboard! Haha.

584. christmas

Rant of the day: “妈妈”只有一个。

How was your Christmas Day? Mine wasn't exactly a blast. But hey, it is a day off from work ya!

Worked half a day during eve. Was on afternoon shift to be exact but had quite a surprise when I reached office. My desk was filled with gifts! Oh my goodness! I'm so paiseh as I didn't prepare anything for anyone. Thought everyone would be busy packing up for the shift of office and no time for such matter. But really... thanks to all who showered me with love and gifts.

Of course, special thanks to Eileen (a.k.a. Hazel 的妈). Besides a pressie and a card with dedicated messages, she treated me donut from Donut Factory! Think she specially went to queue after her morning half day work. I'm so touched!

BBQ dinner after work at Angela's place was good. Love the otah dear and I ordered. It's really fantastic! It's smooth and rich with chunks of fish meat. Best of all, the natural sweetness is not covered by all those spices. Ya know, those cheap otahs that we buy usually taste more like spice paste rather than fish otah. The satay was good too. And love the jelly dessert.

My lil brother is also back from his holiday. Thanks so much for the tee. Was so happy to find a new tee on my bed when I'm home. Love it too! And of course, all those yummilicious goodies in the kitchen! Muahahaha...

Christmas Day itself was bland. Was already irritated by the slow SMS responses. Dear SMSed me this morning and guess what? I just received them at around 10pm! WTF!?!?! Not sure was it with my operator or dear's operator. At least my SMSes reaches the recipients on time...

Wanted to actually hang out but as dear wasn't feeling well, we spent most of our day at my place recuperating. But we managed to get a new mobile for her mum. I'm thinking of changing my phone too. It's too bulky... Well, it's the first time I went shopping and lunch with her mum. I'm glad...

Anyway, hope dear get well soon. It hurts me everytime I hear her cough.

Rant of the day: 吃的太饱了!

Rant of the day: 喉咙要快一点好啊!

Anyway,

581. raining

Rant of the day: Throat infection... Hate it...

It's raining almost everyday. How irritating... Clothes took a long time to dry and shoes are always wet.

Christmas is around the corner and my secondary class BBQ is yet to confirm. Right... Looks like everyone has a tight schedule to meet. But seriously, I haven't seen them for a very very long time.

Anyway, went to this new Korean restaurant at Square 2, Novena. Food is good. Price is not too expensive and relatively comparable to those in foodcourts. You'll need to pay around $6.50 for a simple set like this with just white rice but this was priced at $8.80 and comes with red bean brown rice. And they are really friendly, serving you with smiles. So, if you are interested to try it out, it's call Seoul Yummy at level 3 Square 2 Mall.

Please watch the Chipmunks. They are seriously adorable! Love Theodore so much! He's damn cute...

580. science centre

Joke of the day: Two blondes were looking high up in the sky at night, enjoying the moonlight. One of the blonde asked, "Is the moon further or Florida?". The other blonde look at her and looked bewildered. "Can you see Florida? Duh!".

How long have you not step into the Science Centre? I can't remember it myself! Think the last time was when I'm still a fat bitch in secondary school. Haha. Anyway, dear and I decided to make a trip down on Sunday for the Secrets of the Pharaohs exhibition.

The moment I alighted from the bus, my eyes glittered with excitement! The Science Centre seems to have an extreme makeover! There's nice ponds and fountains outside. There's MacDonalds. There's a kids water corner. And there's a gigantic King Rameses statue!

The queue for tickets is terrible. So many people can't wait to get in! Tourists... Families... Couples (like dear and I)... It's so pack! We decided to snap some photos to kill the time.

The mummies exhibits are really disappointing. It's either damaged by those spoilt brats whose parents have totally no control of or really too little to be amazed. But at least the main content is quite posh.

There's alot of new exhibits and are really cool, unlike the mummies exhibit. There's this I Space thing and I find it really cool.

Love the path towards it's exhibition. So retro! Somehow it reminds me of the MoS retro room dance floor.

There's this area where it really looks like a cell in the aliens chamber! So exciting! Wonder if you can find aliens inside?

And when nature calls, it's time for a toilet break... in the public! Dear is just too shy to pose for the camera when she's doing her business.

I'm caught in the act too! Trying to shit into my pants. Anyway, it's actually a device to measure your daily health information like weight and BMI. Cool right? But I think it's not accurate because it weighs me 1kg heavier! @#$%^&*

You should seriously make a trip to the Digital Art and Technology (DAT) exhibition. Most of it's stuff are really interesting. Almost every corner is a surprise! Just take a look at the giant labyrinth game! Wow...

But my favourite is this interactive shadow thingy. Every object you touch on the table brings a surprise to the shadow! So cute right?

It's also my first time at the Omni Theatre. Don't laugh... I know I'm a suah gu (mountain tortise) but it's really my first time. Too bad. I didn't take any photos of it because it's restricted from any form of recording. Anyway, the screen is astonishing! It's HUGE! And it's almost 3D where pictures almost come to live! Like what dear said, it's like you are in the movie and not just watching it. Well said...

You should make a trip there too! The entrance to Science Centre + DAT exhibition + Omni Theatre is $15. Ok right? Rather then splurging somewhere of no use. If this one doesn't brings you knowledge, at least it brings back memories...

579. essay

Rant of the day: Hate the wait...

It's 2am and I'm still awake. Well, partly is to complete my 2000 words essay and also to wait for dear to reach home safely after her small birthday gathering with her friends. So, might as well blog until my eyes can't take it. Haha...

The essay is finally done. Brain is literally drained and dead. Writing 2000 words for essay is first time and it proved to be a challenge. I've not written something that long in my life all this while besides doing report for poly projects as the reports can go up to 100 pages. This time is me, myself and I.

Since I'm trying to chalk up the amount of words, I've been trying to fluff up the essay with many words. Think quite a number of us are doing so. Well, it's tactics I suppose. So, as I went on and tada, I've got about 2050 words! Ok, that's it... no more writing and I seriously wouldn't vet it till Monday. Sick and tired of it.

Going to submit it on Monday, together with the payment of school fees. Ouch! There goes my bonus...

Also, the company that is suppose to give me my laptop for re-contracting my broadband finally called me but to my disappointment, it is to go personally to place an order at their office and not the actual collection of the laptop. But I thought they had called me up previously on 29 November 07 to ask me about the colour I wanted? Why are they requesting me to go down to place an order again? They can't answer me at all when I probed them earlier on.

Plus, the wait at their office was horrible! After taking the queue number, I waited for about an hour! What the heck?!? There goes my weekend! I seriously think that if Singtel were to let their customers do re-contracting with promotions, give out the gifts directly and not sub-contract to other companies to handle all these! It seriously don't display nicely on Singtel side as any bad service will be imaged as Singtel instead.

Guess what? The laptop that I'd ordered will only be available either end of this month or early next month. What the heck?!? Another long wait again... Peeved...

Saw the new advertising tactics when travelling on NEL? Think it's called the Moove TV or something like that. Pretty cool actually. Think they can gradually implement to most of the underground railways.

Anyway, enjoy the mambo on my blog... *yawn*

578. back to work

Rant of the day: Need to look for a new job now...

I detest going back to work. Stupid procedures that just makes my work keep piling up. It's about time to call a quit. Sick and tired of all these ridiculous requests and queries.

I'm looking for a good and appropriate media job. Humane working hours that allows me to study. Paid overtime. Fantastic benefits. Perfect environment. Good payout, which means salary and bonuses. Good management. 5 days work week with weekend to relax. Reachable from home within 30 minutes.

To all employers out there, if you are looking for a perfect employee like me, please drop me a message and perhaps we can arrange for an interview. I'm good.

Anyway, a pleasant surprise when I'm back in office. A $10 NTUC voucher for winning a quiz. Haha. Mum happily accept it to shop for her groceries. Well, it's not much but it is extra cash vouchers. Haha.

Hate those peps who stuff flyers all over the flat. Ever since the mailboxes now can block up the front cover, those small time companies had been trying all means to distribute their flyers. So, without any other places to stuff at, they squeeze them into those slits of my door! What the heck?!? could the authorities do something about all these companies. Issue a hefty fine or something as it is rubbish! Or maybe send the bosses to do corrective work order. Note that these rubbish ain't my rubbish.

U0B had been giving me alot of problem recently after a new application of their debit card. Firstly, the initial Visa Electron debit card was not linked to my bank account even though I had received the PIN to their ATM.

Secondly, due to the linkage delay, I couldn't make my purchases at Guess shop when I'm paying up. This causes so much embarrasement at their counter, as if I have no money and still want to buy branded stuff. But in fact, it's a brand new card!

Thirdly, no one ever mention to me that the credit limit is only $3000! At the point of my application at their outlet, I had already told them that it's to pay off my school fees. Don't you think as a service provider, it will be appropriate to inform me the credit limit of this card and perhaps give me other alternatives? This wasn't known to me until I called up their hotline to enquire about the above problems! What kind of school fees do they think I'm paying for? Primary school fees ah?

I was sooooooo fucking pissed!

When probed over the initial call to their hotline, it was mentioned that even their Visa Mini limit is $3000 and only those debit cards that requires annual payment has a limit of up to $5000! What the heck?

So, not happy with all these services, I decided to make a trip to their counter directly on Monday and to my "astonishment", they can't really handle much about their card product and only to refer me back to their hotline again. Right... And this time round, they say the mini have a limit of $5000. Double standard. So, I gave them a deadline of sending me the mini by Friday.

Well, at least the card is now here on Thursday. Will make a trip to their counter directly to activate the card. Waste of my time... I'm really NOT happy with their service and not sure how are they going to compensate my:
- time wasted for all those trips and calls
- embarrasement at Guess

But luckily their follow up after the final call was speedy. Else, I'm gonna make a big fuss over it because I cannot make my payment to school! But still, I'm not satisfied...

Ok, back to rushing of the academic essay. I'm so mentally blocked...

577. great job done

Rant of the day: Back to work...

Great job guys! The group presentation is finally over. Think we had done well. At least we managed to capture the attention of the class, as well as the lecturer. Think we seriously deserve a high distinction (HD) for the presentation. We were not kidding when we marked ourselves as 29 out of 30 but perhaps others think otherwise. Whatever it is, I think we done way much better then the others. SERIOUSLY!

The best pals cam-whoring before presentation. For the first time Ben styled his hair. Haha...

My lil brother is finally back in Singapore after a long overseas deployment at Brunei. The airport had went through many changes but the boarding board is so nostalgia.

Mum wants to have a lunch at our favourite teppanyaki buffet restaurant at Goodwood Park Hotel. It's good! You are paying not for the variety but the quality. The sashimi is so fresh that it slips smoothly down your throat. And when you chew on it slightly, it's sweet and crunchy. Love the prawns and chicken. In fact, every dish is a surprise!

Caught The Golden Compass with dear after lunch. It's really a good movie and those kids can really act well. Nicole Kidman is great! But the story didn't end and there seems to have a sequel to it. Hope it doesn't goes on and on like Harry Potter. It do gets irritating sometimes when stories doesn't ends.

Just finished my paper for Comm 2281. Open book but it's damn tiring! It's a test of whether you have been reading through your notes and if you know where to look for the information. Flipping and flipping of the notes. Thinking of how to link up the points in order to make sense to the questions. It's not easy ok.

After all, it's also a test of how fast can you copy from the notes within the 2 hours. My words just kept getting bigger and spacing in between gets wider as I wrote. By the time it reaches the last question, my handwriting was atrocious. Haha. Well, at least it's done and now left with the academic essay. Ok, get it done quick!

It's back to work tomorrow afternoon. Hate the feeling...

576. ict

Rant of the day: I am damn tired... My mind is on the verge of breaking down...

How long have I not blog? I barely have the time to sleep and let's not talk about blogging. I have been getting less then 5 hours of sleep everyday! It's my in-camp training (a.k.a. reservist) and have to report by 8am in full uniform. This is provided that there's no events like battalion run and unfortunately, there was...

Every night were mad rush on project presentation, which is tomorrow, till 1am or 2am. And the next morning, have to wake up around 5plus or 6am. Good thing is that there's barely things for us to work on. Bad thing is there's no bunk for us to sleep. Right...

But it's good to see Han Teng and Jun Wei in camp. It's been ages since I'd last saw them and they're doing the ICT with me. It's good to hear that they are doing fine in studies. Guess what? Chin Siong is back in the platoon after disrupting for studies in the States. Was thinking who is this familiar face in office and just suddenly struck me when I saw his name tag. Haha...

Chua is still the same; at least his "famous" laughter is still the same! Damn freaking LOUD! There's alot of movement in the unit. Most peps are still around but as a different post.

The canteen is still the same. The food is still the same. The taste is still the same. Only difference is the price but it's still cheaper then outside. Still love their lor mee though. It's yummilicious... Oh yes, so is their peanut pancake (min jian kuey).

1 week of ICT. One of my longest week. Time seems to past so slowly everyday when you've got nothing to do. And there's no Internet or PC to work on my project... *sigh*

Well, presentation is tomorrow! Better maintain my voice. I'm falling sick again due to mental fatigue and depriving from sleep. Time to get the stuff finalise for tomorrow. Gambatte! It's fantastic to work with the guys in my team. That's what we call teamwork and prove to Steve (our lecturer) that friends can still work together well for projects. Keep it up guys!

Rant of the day: 讨厌失声的感觉。

是我的话,老早就show him the door了。

Quote of the day: Thank you shhh-shers...

手指指向一名同学,便很严厉的说“If you are not interested in the lesson, GET OUT!”。

Good night……

573. commercial

Rant of the day: I'm getting fat.

Something for the readers. A sparkling water commercial aired on UK's national TV. Not suitable for the young. "Sexually explicit" content.

What a warm day today. Even the night is not spared from the heat and humidity. It's odd for the coming cold and wet season. I'd bathe just 2 hours back and I'm sticky again.

Saturday, November 24, 2007

Rant of the day: 今天我的真心笑容不见了……

“Next time you tell Isaac don't shout at me!”
“Huh?”
“You didn't hear meh yesterday?”
“Hmmmmm... No. I've got my work to do and not listen to other people's conversation.”
Tell him don't be so rude! Tell him don't scold me! It's so rude ok. Email archive is not I order him to do ok. Is YC ok.”

571. brink of breaking down

Rant of the day: Define fairness. Nothing on Earth is fair.

Before the clock strikes 12, decided to blog down some stuff. Can you believe that there's road works just on the road in front of my block RIGHT NOW! Look at the time!

I feel so lost at work. Imagine that you have to follow up on system testing from someone who's on leave for 3 weeks. The reading up of the hand-over documents can literally kill you. The information are so difficult to grasp and it's already too late to start all over again. The more I try to understand the documents, the more I felt lost.

I'm so stressed that there's acne outbreak on my face and body. I'm so stressed that I can't sleep soundly at night. I've tried so hard to persuade myself to accept the branch procedures and management style but right now, I feel like giving up everything and leave. I'm not the kind of person that gives up easily and do my best in everything I do but right now, my mind is at the brink of breaking down...

Tomorrow is my big day I guess. Get prepared to be shoot to death. It's my work review report day or most might call it the confirmation appraisal. Isaac just had his today and it took a full one and a half hour! From what he said, it sounds bad. My turn tomorrow. What ever it is, I'm preparing to look for a better job once 13 month bonus is in... But where should I go?

570. worms in chocolate

Rant of the day: Fly me to the moon...

It's just another lousy day at work. I haven't had such a demoralised feeling for very long. May the end of the year comes quick.

Anyway, some excitement happened at work today. My previous team lead had left a couple boxes of chocolates for the team before she leaves for her maternity leave. Chocolates have always been one of my favourite food as it keeps my mood on a calmer side. Since I'm really down this few weeks, I'd decided to munch on just a lil to perk myself up. To my horror, I saw this after I'd unwrapped a piece of the mint chocolate.

Two worms actually dropped of from the chocolate and landed on the wrapper! Yucks! To think that many of us had actually took quite a number of pieces, leaving just two pieces in the box! Gross...

An closer look at the worms and they are KICKING and ALIVE! So, I peered into the box and found the last piece. I unwrapped it and also, there's another worm manifesting on it! Eeewwww...

The chocolates has not expired but there's actually worms in it. I didn't place it at anywhere damp, moist or warm. In fact, my office is a HUGE fridge! I'd blurred the distributor's name and address. So if you are interested to know what brand of chocolate, PM me at my MSN or email me. Just a clue -- it's mint chocolate and can be bought from most supermarts.

Ok, enough of those awful stuff...

Isaac is back in office for 2 days and will be going for his ICT from next week. Mine is the week after next. Can't wait to pause work. Sick of it.

Went lunch with him as usual. Gosh, the laska at Take 5 is good! The gravy is pretty thick and it's pretty tasty. You should give it a try. Their beef and chicken stew are pretty nice too. But take with moderation. Ain't healthy food...

Dear's 2 days MC is over and will be back at work. But her cough is still not recovering and the nose block is still persistent. Get well soon my dear. *hugs* Must drink alot of water and rest early. Remember to take medicine too! Especially the antibiotics...

569. disgusted acts

Quote of the day: 去哪里并不重要。

If there is one word to describe many toilet users on Earth, it will be DISGUSTING. I'm not sure how many times had I seen men not washing their hands after peeing. It is totally gross and unhygienic.

Besides that, bits and pieces of drenched toilet papers everywhere. Since where did it "snowed" in toilets? So it get even disgusting when many users knowingly or unknowingly stepped on those "snow" and makes the floor with tattered and torn papers.

What about extremely smelly toilets with pooped that was left unflushed? Seen it somewhere? It's almost everywhere in most of the MRTs' and coffee shops' toilets! Can't they just flush their businesses away? I seriously don't need to know what's left undigested from their previous meals.

And if you think those above are disgusting, you'll puke after reading the following... *beware*

I was doing my usual peeing at AMK Hub earlier before dinner in one of the cubicles. I'm more of a cubicle person. Don't really like to display my weapon to the public. Anyway, as I was peeing halfway, I realised there's some water flowing in from the next cubicle. Thinking that it might be those water over-flowing after washing for our Muslim counterparts, I ignored and continued from where I'd stopped. Then I realised that the liquid seems yellowish and has a strong urine stench! FUCK! It's urine! The puddle just kept on flowing in, which means, the person wasn't peeing into the toilet bowl but ON THE FLOOR!!! I quickly get my business done and get the hell out of the toilet.

How on Earth did the person pee in a cubicle? If that person is having problem peeing ACCURATELY into the toilet bowls, my advise is to use the damn urinals outside the cubicles! Those urinals are there for a reason...

Puking already? What I've written is not fictitious but I seriously don't know what the hell the guy (I suppose... it's male toilet) in that cubicle was doing.

I suppose it's every individuals responsibilities to ensure that they do not overly dirtied the public toilets. I'm sure you don't dirty your home toilets right? It's impossible to keep public toilets clean always but at least minimally not pollute it. Everyone has to share the utilities and don't be selfish to dirty it.

What's your views? If your views are long, please DON'T tag on the tagboard! Use the "comments" function instead.

Dear is down with pretty serious flu and has 2 days of MC. Hope that it's good enough to recover. The weather is getting cold and many are falling sick due to the sudden change in temperature. Must drink more water and rest more my dear...

I almost printed out my resignation letter this afternoon. Haiz... Endure...

568. klunch

Rant of the day: I can't handle my workload now...

I dread going to office everyday. I simply DISLIKE with a CAPITAL 'D' of what I'm doing now. Just an MC from me makes the office "shake". How pathetic is that...

Went to K-Lunch with dear, Benjamin and Nat on Sunday. It's been quite a while since I've last went KTV. It's pretty fun actually. Call me "本土天王" (local king) now! Muahahaha...

The K-Lunch menu had seriously went through some major changes. From the rock hard lamb steak to the rubber-band bee hoon to now, the pretty well done Japanese fare. The Japanese curry chicken was quite well done. And there's crab meat salad! Cool right?

Dear isn't feeling so well actually and she still don't want to take medicine. Haiz... Please take care of yourself ok... Must drink more water. See, you look so pale in the photo. *heart pain*

Benjamin and Nat enjoying their long list of English songs. It's one of the rare times where you can see Benjamin smile for the camera! Quick, go buy 4D and ToTo.

Shan't go on. It's quite late now. It's hell week for me. Heck!

567. submission

Joke of the day: SEX = Suck... Enter... eXplode...

It's such a joy... Besides my camera, my mp3 player is ok too! After a scary water-soaked encounter, I swear that I'll never buy water bottles from Mini Toons again! Oh yes, please treat the joke above as a joke. Not that I've tested it ok... Don't think too much.

Dear's department event at Zouk was quite a surprise. Their doorgift is cool! It's a 1GB Samsung mp3 player. It cost about $99 at Best Denki. What an expensive doorgift! That's the thing about working in a private and profitable company, you get good gifts and rewards. Can't have such benefits if you're working in a gahmen sector, it's tax-payers money and we can't spend lavishly.

We've finally submitted our project. A load off our mind... All the effort and time spent has finally come to an end. At least for now till the next module starts. Really need to give special thanks to Royston and Benjamin for all the effort they'd put in. You guys are terrific. Initiative and spontaneous. And of course our lecturer, Mr. Ravi, for all the guidance provided. And not forgetting my dear for her support in all possible ways. And how can I forget about this important person -- MYSELF! Have to thank my body for not breaking down after all those long hours of work. Spent hours to work on those documents. Sacrifice lunch breaks and sleep to work on those designs. Alas... it's temporary over...

Just back date a lil. Had lunch at Ikea with mum while we sent our Lumix FX30 for servicing. Their food is fantastic. Love their meatballs and chicken wings! The fish and chips still has lotsa room for improvement. Mum simply love the food!

Saw this interesting message. Isn't it interesting? It's nice to have such messages around but sometimes it's sad that we need such messages to remind ourselves the importance of having a civic mind.

Anyway, it's time to sleep! Look at the time now... Night peps!

Joy of the day: My Lumix FX30 is perfectly fine! Yippeee...

565. after exam, letting out

Rant of the day: There's something wrong with my PC.

I seriously HATE my job. I absolutely find no passion in it and I'm still hanging on because I needed the money to sustain my studies. Was already expected alot of work to be thrown at once I'm back at work but didn't realise that it's SO F**KING many arrows!

Anyway, it's not my plan to stay here forever.

Exam is finally over. The project is also considered completed and awaits submission on coming Saturday. The exam hall was freezing cold. Even with my jacket on, I'm still feeling the chill. I've not stepped into an exam hall for ages and it definitely brings back memories. Might not be good one though. Haha.

It happens to be Natalie's pre-birthday celebration. So some of us actually gathered to Marina Square for lunch. I seriously don't like most of the ice-cream taste at Yuki Yaki but since it's hard work of making it by Natalie and Sharon, we shall all finish them up. Food was ok though but somehow, it felt like Seoul Garden.

After eating, it's camera-whoring time and of course group photos.

The girls... well, not exactly. There's "something" at the back.

And the charming guys (because I'm in the photo). Without a doubt, the class has more girls than guys.

Besides the exam, I've also donated my blood after 5 long years. Not exactly painful but it's quite tiring after losing 450ml of fresh blood. Not alot actually. And of course, it takes alot of courage to let the nurse pokes the yakult-straw-sized needle into your vein. I've got to say it's very scary for first timers but once you've been through it, it's really quite nothing.

Believe it, there's quite a number of girls donating blood and there's actually guys who'd chickened out at the very last minute. Whimp...

But I really like their new rubber bandage. It comes in many colours and it's quite lasting. Unlike those plasters, it doesn't comes off easily! And it has cute prints. Mine was the dinosaurs. Cute right?

564. mumbai da... india...

Rant of the day: Tomorrow is the showdown!

This is one of my favourite commercials. It is so freaking funny!

Here comes the Stardust trailer mentioned in my previous post. Watch it! I'll give 4 out of 5. I'm serious. It's remarkable...

563. study and stardust

Rant of the day: Study... study... study...

Exams is just around the corner and everyone (well... everyone I assume...) is studying hard. I'm sure everyone is aiming for a distinction for the first module. Good start I suppose. Met up for a couple of days with some of the closer classmates but sometimes, I felt studying in groups might not necessary be a good idea. Advantage is that we can all share our knowledge on our stronger topics (provided that all are willing to share). Disadvantage is that we will sure to deviate from studying and usually end up chit-chatting instead (so typical).

I've skimmed through the chapters and roughly remembers the more important points but hasn't really start the memorising portion. But will memorising work? It's no longer those secondary school days where we just need to memorise word for word and you'll sure get a distinction. It's not like poly days where memory work can get you quite far ahead. Situation isn't the same now. We need explanations with examples but these ain't really covered much in the notes. Stress...

But I'm sure we will all get through it.

Anyway, watch "Stardust". From the previews, you'll prolly thinks that it's another mythical and magical movie. You'll prolly be expecting exaggerated graphics and animations. No doubt, it is ANOTHER fantasy, mythical and magical movie with lotsa exaggerated graphics and animations. BUT, it has an element which is seldom found in such typical movies -- romance.

Compare it with movies like Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Pan's Labyrinth. Where's the romance element? Don't tell me the "puppy love" thingy in Harry Potter's movies is romance. I'll slap you...

Besides the romance element, Stardust also have the comedy element in it. In many scenes, it actually brought many movie-goers to laughter. The plot creatively used seven spirits as clowns to enhance the comedy element.

And did I missed out the actors and actresses? They are fantastic! Michelle Pfeiffer and Robert De Niro are so good! Michelle Pfeiffer is really so sexy for her age! Not forgetting the super sweet Claire Danes as Yvaine, the fallen star. And for the gals, do watch out for Charlie Cox as Tristan. I'm sure you'll drool...

Well, it's late now. Time to rest. Nitez peps!

562. out-of-office

Quote of the day: To run the country well, you'll need to have three things. Firstly, a strong army. Secondly, enough food for everyone. Thirdly, citizens' trust for the country.

-- Confucius

Exam is just around the corner and I'd barely started much. Will go on full time studying starting from tomorrow till Sunday. Hope that I'll do just as fine and pass with flying colours. Hope that I can get my first distinction.

I wouldn't be returning to office till next Thursday! So happy. Finally got a chance to put "Out-of-Office" message in my office email! Tomorrow is my off-in-lieu for Hari Raya Puasa. Thursday is Deepavali. I'm on leave on Friday and Monday. Will be on course on Tuesday and Wednesday. Nice...

Just came home not too long ago from Xuan's grandmother's wake. Hope he's doing fine and I'm sure he will. He's a strong lad. He's also going over to the States next year for an exchange programme. So good right? I don't even get such chances. At he's age, he had travelled places where I've never thought I'll have such opportunities. Pretty tied down badly by work, money and studies. The furthest I've went was Taiwan and that was before my enlistment because I have TIME! And of course, the other time was with Army.

Just something to share -- Don't commit any crime, at least not those that will get you rotan. See this and you'll know what I meant. Ouch!

561. power house

Question of the day: Where did the famous chili crab originated from?

St. James is not call the power house for nothing. It's HUGE! It's my first time there actually and seldom hear any stuff from others. If it's not for Fiona's birthday celebration, I'll prooly never step in there. Though it's not my cup of tea but I'm really really impressed with the creators. Incorporating the old days of clubbing (where we all sit and enjoy the show of singing and dancing) with the current way (where we all rush to the dance floor and dance like there's no tomorrow).

There's like 45min of performance and then 45min of rest time where the DJ will start doing his thing and the party-goers will start to "yo-ah-yo" at their tables. And the cycle will repeat. Interesting right? The entire St. James is divided into many many rooms, similar to MoS. Besides the KTV pub area above Dragonfly (one of the room), the rest of the rooms all comes with stage performances. Dragonfly is more of the Cantopop thing. Performaces are mainly in Cantonese and Chinese with occasional English songs. If you want English performaces, I'll recommend the RnB and retro rooms.

Pre-party cam-whoring. Don't waste the time and chance. Since we're all dressed up, might as well snap some pictures!

How can we not take a picture with the birthday girl! The girls are all in their make-ups like blooming flowers. And coincidentally, dear and Fiona put up their green eye shadow. Guess what, I'd actually helped dear with her eye shadow! Heehee... Not bad right? Mixture of green and blue!

Performace by Yutaki. Happens to be one of the instructors at Studio Wu but I'd never seen him before previously because I'd never attended his classes. Apparently, he's also Fiona's idol friend! She cannot stop talking about him and her eyes were always glued to all his performances.

I seriously don't know who is she but her performances (mainly Chinese oldies) are damn good! The techniques she used for the oldies are really remarkable.

The rest of performances are good also but didn't snap the pictures due to poor lighting. The photos all turned out either dark or blurred. So if you wanna know and feel the power of the power house, do make a trip down yourself! But perhaps just note also the average age of the customers are slightly older. Even I felt young there! Haha...

560. family day

Rant of the day: I'm such a scatter-brain!!!

We were quite fortunate that adverse weather did not occur during Family Day. It will be bad if rain starts falling down and everyone is trap in Zoo.

I'm such a scatter-brain. I'd actually left the tickets at home when I'd reached Zoo. Worse thing is Isaac's ticket was with me and I left it at home too! Shit! So, took a cab home just to grab the tickets and back to Zoo, which cost me $20. Ouch!

Door gift was really good -- a set of portable utensils that consist of fork, spoon and knife. Neat! But it's really sad that only staff was entitled to the door gift. Non-staff wasn't given. What the? Food was pretty bad I suppose. We pre-ordered KFC Zinger meal but was damn disappointed when it wasn't a complete set. There's no coleslaw and the burger does not have vegetables.

Didn't win anything home from the lucky draw. The draw was conducted intermittently throughout the programme and after waiting for sometime, dear and I decided to go for our exploration instead. It's quite a waste of time to just sit there on the uncomfortable chair and watch the shows prepared and designed for the kids.

It's my first time watching lions in their pack. The lion's roar is quite amazing. But unfortunately, the roar wasn't captured clearly in the video. And they didn't fight. No actions either...

559. halloween party at zouk

Rant of the day: I can't stand *ahem* anymore! She really pushed my patience to the limit.

I should have this uploaded earlier on but was too tired and lazy to reduce the picture size and blog. Anyway, the Halloween Party at Zouk was a blast! It's literally 人间地狱 (living hell) where demons and spirits were everywhere. Definitely not for the weak-hearted.

So, it's gonna be a scary ride now. Please click on the [X] on your explorer now if you are afraid (coward). Ready? Here goes...

The charming vampire with his troop of 2 bootilicoius demon girls. Watch out for their red sequinn trident. They'll shaft it up your arse if you touch them!

Souls that were trapped in Zouk. Save them? Or you prefer to join them?

Just when you thought nurses are sexy. You will never want to bring this one home I'm sure!

Chinese zombies were so typical that day. Don't they find that charm on their forehead irritating?

This is damn funny! Rowan Atkinson with the Manhattan Maid in Zouk! But since when Mr. Bean changed his bear?

I seriously don't know what monster is this. The sequel to Adam's Family? But he need some facelift. It's sagging...

The Chinese ghost couple appearing in the midst of the crowd. But their make-up seriously need some touching up.

This is "scary". I'm soooooooooooo "afraid"... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... Barney's gonna teach you sing and dance!

Now, this is really SCARY! I'll prolly shit my pants if I'm the taxi driver picking them up. *shivers*

But dear does not need any costume. Here comes the Sadako! She'll crawl out from your TV set in 7 days. riiiiiinnnnnnnnggggggggg...

Ok, picked the most interesting out of the huge lot of photographs. There's actually alot more like Catwoman, Harry Potter, Puss in Boots, Traffic Light, Hongkong Policewomen and lotsa undead criminals in chains. I'm so looking forward to next year's Halloween Party! Eh, a lil too early now... Hahaha...
